Help Ecuador Recover

Families in Ecuador are suffering immensely due to repeated natural disasters. Severe flooding in April left entire towns caked in mud. We provided a total of $542,000 USD in aid, our Cash-For-Relief program benefitting over 17,000 families and creating 17,764 temporary jobs. We also offered aid to over 1,200 additional families, helping them adequately subsist for a month.

Tzu Chi’s disaster relief in Ecuador began after the tragic earthquake in 2016. Our emergency relief program provided over half a million USD in aid and created over 34,000 jobs. Mid-term aid included distributions for those still displaced months later, while long-term aid is focused on rebuilding, as many still suffer a year after the earthquake.
