Join the Tzu Chi Greater Washington DC Region in Preparing Students for the 2021-22 School Year

In the last 15 years, the Tzu Chi Greater Washington DC Region has collaborated with local schools to support children and families from low-income households across Virginia and Maryland. Despite in-person learning having shut down as a result of COVID-19, plus the great economic strain the pandemic has placed on ordinary families, Tzu Chi volunteers have striven to meet their needs by delivering grocery packages and cash cards to households in need since 2020. Yet, as learning formats are changing – so is our help.

With students returning to in-person classes in the 2021-22 school year, the Tzu Chi Greater Washington DC Region is raising money to give backpacks filled with school supplies to at least 300 students from low-income households. These items will include…

  • backpacks
  • notebooks
  • folders
  • loose leaf paper
  • pens and pencils
  • markers and colored pencils
  • …and more!

The institutions that will receive these supplies include…

With a donation of just $20, you can help us provide the school supplies one child needs to get a strong, confident, and stylish start to the school year. What’s more, parents and caregivers will be able to save money on these necessary items, giving their budgets much-needed relief in a difficult year.
